To get started with channels, a signed survey adapted to work well in the channel is needed. Channels consist of a script to be used, for example, on the website. The script is placed on the webpage that should be able to display the survey or feedback link. Normally, the script is placed on all pages of a website and at the bottom of the page. Each channel has a default setting for how surveys and feedback links should function. The channel also has sections, where custom settings can be made on a specific section of a website or app. When a section is triggered, the section settings are used instead of default settings.
Inside the channel, the survey is linked to a web publication by either editing the channel's default settings or adding a new section. It is in the web publication that the result and background data are stored. Considerations when creating web surveys and surveys for channels.
Script
Each channel has its own script where all the channel's sections are included. The script is normally placed at the bottom of the webpage that should display the survey or feedback link.
The script can be customized between anonymous visitors and logged-in visitors depending on whether the survey should be anonymous or not. Logged-in visitors are chosen if background data for the respondent should be submitted along with the response.
There is also the possibility to trigger surveys on the website by setting up triggers, adding information from the page or visitor, and triggering events when the survey is complete.

For one page applications, there is a setting that means the script does not listen for the onload event but is triggered directly when the script is called. Then the script also needs to be part of the application.
In the interface, there is a marking if the script has been loaded at any time in the last 2 days. This does not automatically mean that there is an active survey or feedback link out or that responses have been received, but only indicates that the script is actively located where it has been loaded.
Sections
Section is a part of a website or app. Through a section, the survey or feedback link can be directed to be displayed when the user is on an exact address or if the page's URL contains, starts with, or ends with a specific word. Each channel can have multiple active sections. Default settings for the channel apply everywhere the script is active and where it is not covered by a section.
Feedback Link
Displayed as a tab from the browser's right side and activated by a click. Example shown below.
Survey
A survey pops up, depending on settings at the bottom or in the middle of the browser. Frequency is used to set how often the survey should be displayed.
Under advanced settings, the survey or feedback link can be further customized, for example, height and width adjusted. Example shown below.
