Quicksearch offers advanced filtering management to ensure that the right person or group has access to the right information.
One type of filtering aimed at reducing the risk of identifying an individual's responses is exclusive filtering.
It works by setting a number of questions or background information as exclusive. If a user filters on any of this information, it is not possible to simultaneously filter on another exclusive piece of information.
An example:
Age group and gender are both set as exclusive filters.
A user can then filter in their results to see how responses are for a specific age group, but they cannot simultaneously filter for a certain gender. Similarly, the user cannot filter for a certain gender and then also filter for a specific age group.
Organizational structure always belongs to exclusive filters. If a user filters out a sub-department, this will always be perceived as exclusive filtering. It is then not possible to simultaneously filter on information set for exclusive filtering.
Use case
The function is used in combination with other features, such as filters and limits for few responses, as a way to protect individual responses primarily in employee surveys.
